笔者通过对烟台职业学院师资队伍现状的分析，结合与山东省其它9所职业技术学院的对比研究认为，各高等职业学院师资建设必须立足自主培养、加强引进以改善师资队伍的学历结构；专兼结合，提高“双师”素质以改善教师队伍能力结构；同时，国家应加强高等职业教育重要意义的舆论宣传，制定高等职业教育教师资格标准，并提供职称、待遇等方面必要的政策支持。只有这样，才能建设一支“师德高尚、教育观念新、改革意识强、具有较高教学水平和较强实践能力的、专兼结合的教师队伍” ，才能切实推进高等职业院校的师资队伍建设工作，使其有可能在2005年达到教育部规定的师资队伍建设水平。
